Rutilated quartz

Whereas the value of many stones lessen if there are inclusions, rutilated quartz are prized for them.  Golden strands of needle-like ribbons are called rutiles which is where the name comes from. It has had many evocative common names such as ‘Aphrodite’s Hair’ ‘Angel Hair’ and ‘Cupid’s Darts’.

They are stunning stones that I absolutely adore and have a hard time parting from them once I get my mits on them!
