I Heard A Rumour....

Did you know the etymology of the word 'Gossip' comes from the word God and sibb  - a person who you were related to via God like a Godmother? In middle English it meant a close friend or confidant. Specifically it became linked with close female friendships with a connection to women who would be present to support their friend in labour. I wonder why it now has such a negative connotation - Its almost like they didn’t want us talking to each other…..
